Correspondent lenders
Neither Sharestates nor any other direct lender has the wherewithal to fully underwrite every promising opportunity out there. That’s why we welcome correspondent lenders.
Once a loan is approved, its originator can use the platform to notify correspondents, who then evaluate the loan request. The originator need not reference correspondents on the term sheet it issues to the borrower, nor do the correspondents need to communicate directly with the borrower.
This arms-length arrangement allows the originator and borrower to maintain a single-point-of-contact relationship. While correspondent lending is typically offered for residential and multifamily deals, there are some participants who would consider a broad range of commercial real estate deals.
